Global Functional Safety Manager Melexis

Vincenzo Sacco graduated (BSc and MSc) from University of Catania (Italy) in 2002. He continued the academic studies and completed his PhD in 2006 jointly at University of Catania and at LIRMM research centre (Montpelier, France) with a thesis on magnetic micro-sensors in MEMS and CMOS technologies; during the academic period he authored more than 40 papers (Conference and Journals) and 1 patent on the PhD subject. He developed his professional career in Melexis Technology SA (Bevaix, Switzerland): started as Analog Design Engineer (1y), Project Manager (3y), Senior Project Manager/Team Leader (3y);in his assignment as Project Manager and Senior Project Manager/Team Leader He led the development of the Automotive Hall-based position Sensor platform (Generation 2); In 2013 He moved into the position of Global Functional Safety Manager which holds today. His primary mission consists in leading the Melexis Functional Safety Competency Centre (FSCC); In his role He is responsible for 1) the implementation of safety standards (ISO 26262, IEC61508, ..) in the product development processes and tools, 2) Functional Safety competence development for all relevant professional functions and 3) serving as independent internal auditor and assessor. In scope of his role of Global Functional Safety Manager He is also leading the enhancement of Systems Engineering competencies, practises, methods, tools (INCOSE) overall in Melexis; He is a member of Melexis Development Staff.
